Young Photographic Perspectives on a Fragmented Present

For the second time, EMOP Berlin is focusing on the perspectives of young photographers - both students and graduates - with the EMOP Special Young Scene. After the successful joint project "Urgent Present. The View of the Young Generation" in 2023, six training institutions from Berlin and Potsdam are once again presenting a group exhibition with works by their students and alumni.

Meet Me Halfway

Under the motto of EMOP Berlin 2025, what stands between us, the participating young photographers were invited to deal with socially relevant topics. In a time of global crises, social upheaval and increasing fragmentation, the Meet Me Halfway exhibition focuses on key questions about living together.

Participants are:

  • Lette Verein Berlin
  • Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie
  • University of Europe for Applied Sciences
  • HTW Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin
  • International Photography School
  • Fachhochschule Potsdam

The curator Marie-Luise Mayer, commissioned by EMOP Berlin, chose a concise selection from 36 submissions and designed an exhibition that focuses on the need for understanding. The works presented reveal gaps, open up new perspectives and counteract the growing social distance with open visual communication.

Participating photographers:

Gabriele Bizzo, Benedikt Burger, Daniela Creanga, Lina Czerny, Avery Edelman, Saskia Darija Gettel, Marie Gutierrez Oliva, Michel Kekulé, Julia Krasnoperova, Lia Meret Lehmkuhl, Thero Mamani Valles, Ada Retegan, Tanya Sharapova, Barbora Svejnochová
