TALKS AND PANEL CONVERSATIONS

During and shortly after the Second World War, about fourteen million Germans in East-Central and Eastern Europe suffered displacement, expulsion and deportations as a result of the war of extermination conducted by the Nazi regime. These events, now eighty years in the past, continue to be relevant today.

Divergent experiences of this history have led to different points of view of the end of the war in East and West. Now we are facing the challenge of making use of these different perspectives to foster peace, democracy and freedom in Europe.

How to find ways of doing this will be the topic of this event.
