By Dié Carvalho & Julie C Stamm

Enjoy a special dance experience of the event series Bande á Part - Danceable event for outsiders with Dié Carvalho and Julie C Stamm in ‘Echoes of the Other’, the dacji* collective.

Dié Carvalho (they/them) is an artist, dancer, performer and choreographer from Porto, Portugal, currently based in Berlin.

Their work centers on a deep curiosity about the physicality of bodies, carne (‘flesh,), and anatomy. Dié’s practice explores embodiment, questioning, “How can I connect to the present without losing the past, and without anxiety for the future?” Their approach insists on full body-mind consent, merging multidisciplinary interests to explore how humans and nature navigate pleasure and suffering. From a queer and transgender perspective, they embrace the balance of failure and achievement, chaos and order, death and rebirth.

Julie C. Stamm (she/they) is a multidisciplinary artist, performer and researcher based in Germany. Their background is in contemporary dance and neuroaesthetics. Julie’s artistic pursuit revolves around facilitating an intimate interplay among these realms through technology, delving into the connection between the digital and physical places. Currently, their exploration primarily focuses on an open body, seeking parallels between data, code and choreography. Their
relationship to creativity is driven by curious modes of hacking/stitching, queer uses and acts of celebration.

Julies current movement fascinations are failure and impossible tasks. In art-science crossovers they are working with real-time neurofeedback in audience participation and custom made sensors as a new measure of engagement.
