Animal season opener for the whole family at Berlin Zoo

At the start of the new 2024/2025 season, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin is once again venturing into the city to bring music directly to people away from the concert halls.

Together with the Berlin Zoological Garden, the DSO is inviting the whole family to a musical day at the zoo, with numerous chamber concerts, both on the music stage at the zoo restaurant and open-air at various locations on the extensive grounds.

Chamber music ensembles of the DSO
With music from BOCCHERINI to HAYDN and MOZART to PROKOFJEWS 'Peter and the Wolf'.

For a number of years now, it has been good form for the DSO to move out of the concert hall and into public places with projects such as 'Berlin braucht Musik!' or the 'DSO-Kiezkonzerte' in order to delight people in urban areas with classical music. Just in time for the start of school and the 2024/2025 season, the orchestra is realizing a very special cooperation as an outreach format this time: with 'DSO at the Zoo', it is on an animal mission for the first time. For one day, seven chamber music ensembles from the ranks of the DSO will perform on the music stage at the zoo restaurant and give pop-up concerts on the zoo grounds - whether on the baboon rock, at the antelope house or around the rhino pagoda.

The detailed program will be announced at the end of August.

Admission is via a zoo ticket, the concerts themselves are free for visitors. DSO subscribers and members of the support group receive tickets at a special price. As the zoo has a dynamic pricing system, it is worth booking your ticket online as early as possible.
