Comic workshop for beginners
In recent years, the medium of comics has increasingly been used in Germany to address the issue of National Socialism. On the occasion of the touring exhibition “Karya 1943: Forced Labor and the Holocaust”, the three-day workshop offers the opportunity to approach the topic of forced labor in occupied Greece through information, discussion and drawing.
Together, the participants will deal with the life stories of Jewish forced laborers from Thessaloniki and create picture sequences under the guidance of comic artist Elke Renate Steiner.
The potentials, limitations and challenges of communicating history through the medium of comics will be reflected upon and discussed.
No previous knowledge is required. Translation into English is available if required. The free workshop is recognized as educational leave / educational time in Berlin.
Maximum 12 participants.
