In 2022, Divorce from Nottingham suddenly appeared - and with full force. The four-person band, which they say was born out of a quarter-life crisis, catapulted themselves straight into the spotlight with their powerful debut EP Get Mean.
Their sound, which is somewhere between Tom Waits, LCD Soundsystem and Mitski, captivated music fans and critics alike.
The focus of Divorce is primarily on the lyrics: They combine pressure, rhythm and musicality with a refreshingly unpretentious examination of serious, quirky and often heartbreakingly sad topics that reflect the realities of young people's lives today.
The band's energetic live performances are at least as impressive as their songs and videos. Sold-out tours and a growing fan base show that Divorce are in tune with the zeitgeist.
The anticipation for their debut album Drive to Goldenhammer, which will be released in March 2025, could hardly be greater. There are special reasons for German fans to be happy: the Brits have confirmed their concert in Berlin.
