The new exhibition at the Galerie Hennwack shows the works of 14 artists in homage to the colour red.

On the one hand, the colour red is public, political, but also private and intimate.

It stands for both love and hate. The participating artist Drago Ljub writes: ‘Red in art is a moment of absolute triumph, but at the same time you are gripped by grief because now everything is over. Red cannot be intensified! Red is also the primary colour of mourning; red is destruction and fear and murder. It is the colour of expulsion and injustice.’

Artist Susann Eilers writes: ‘If I close my eyes and ask myself what colour I am, it's red. Passionate, warm, and sometimes painful red... It can show: something is wrong here.’
