Marwa El-Sherbini, three months pregnant, is stabbed to death by Alex Wiens in a German courtroom in 2009. Her husband rushes to her aid, is seriously injured by the perpetrator and shot by a BKA security officer. Alex Wiens remains unharmed. He was charged with racially abusing Marwa El-Sherbini and her three-year-old child on a playground.

In this court scene, a deeply rooted and cultivated violence against everything that is ‘different’ in Germany is unleashed. Downplayed in public as an isolated incident, it reveals the deeply racist structure of an intergenerationally reproduced colonial rule and ethno-nationalist ideology.

After plays on the subjects of white privilege, repressive stigmatisation in psychiatry, systematic violence at the EU's external borders and the German repression of Nazi ‘euthanasia’, the Kunstblock e. V. is developing a Germany-critical commemoration of Marwa El-Sherbini. No Forgetting.
