Menopause - and then sidetracked? Not at all! The menopause may be the last menstruation, but it is by no means the end of an active, fulfilling life.

Why should it be? Initiatives such as the online magazine ‘Palais F*luxx’, the podcast ‘Meno an mich’ and the Scottish Menopause Festival educate, entertain, inform and unequivocally show that great projects and new beginnings are also possible beyond the menopause.

On this theme day at the MEK, we celebrate what comes after the menopause. And raise a glass to the fact that the ‘Läuft’ exhibition will also be on display for a few more months. All programme items are included in the admission fee, advance registration is not necessary.

Programme

12-13 hrs | Tandem tour of the ‘Läuft’ exhibition with Diana Helfrich, pharmacist, journalist and host of the ‘Meno an mich’ podcast

13-14.30 | Menopause - everything back to square one? With Silke Burmester from ‘Palais F*luxx’ (online magazine for intoxication, revolt, menopause) and a gynaecologist, we talk about the pitfalls and triumphs of the menopause and what follows. Afterwards there will be time for questions.

3 pm | Curator-guided tour through the exhibition ‘Läuft’

3.00 pm - 4.30 pm | Menopause Café with Rachel Weiss, founder of the Scottish Menopause Festival and initiator of the Menopause Cafés. Over coffee and cake, everyone (regardless of gender and age) can talk about the menopause in a respectful and relaxed setting (in German, English and Turkish).

6 pm | Reading and discussion with Stefanie de Velasco: ‘The grass on our side’
Afterwards: Champagne reception to celebrate the extension of ‘Läuft’

Unless otherwise stated, the events will be held in German spoken language. The venue has limited barrier-free access. Detailed information can be found under ‘Plan your visit/Address’ on the MEK website. If you have any questions, please contact us at mek@smb.spk-berlin.de.
