For them, tango is passion, virtuosity and power - taking into account over 100 years of tango history. Conscious of tradition, they bring the “Guardia Vieja” tangos, which were initially even happier, onto the stage with such ease that everyone’s legs itch.

They present the golden age of tango of the “40s” in a compact quartet sound with the highlights of the large orchestras à la Di Sarli, Troilo, D’Arienzo, Pugliese or Salgán.

They feel so connected to Astor Piazzolla's demanding Tango Nuevo that the deeply felt melancholy and complexity of this music can always be felt. And they are also curious - about what's new in tango - because in search of the tango of the 21st century, they present contemporary Argentine and European tango compositions in their concert and dance program.

The classic formation of the quartet with bandoneón, violin, piano and double bass promises a sound experience that moves between tradition and modernity. With its creativity, imagination and experience, the small tango orchestra conjures up a tango world for all kinds of emotions on stage.

Michael Dolak (Germany) – Bandoneón
Susanne Cordula Welsch (Germany) – violin
Judy Ruks (Netherlands) – piano
