The terrain of the body is changing. #MeToo, artificial intelligence, trans rights, egg freezing, influencers, rape as a weapon of war, surrogacy, abortion based on zip codes, implants, and interactive sex dolls are just a few of the buzzwords that define and constitute postmodern and post-biological body consciousness. People are empowering their bodies, setting new boundaries, breaking or overcoming old ones.
Against this backdrop, "Service Not Included" examines the simultaneity of progress and regression, self-determination and submission in an era of almost disembodied existence, in which regulated and controlled bodies are emerging in a new edition. The female body, in particular, is still seen as a moral dynamite. It is constantly commented on and regulated, touchable and vulnerable.
How self-determined are these bodies in an era of technological achievements/progress and reactionary thinking/conventions?
The project "COPYRIGHTS" explores the complex relationship between body politics, copyright, and digital identity in the context of the performing arts. Central to the question is how the female-read body is controlled, reproduced, and monetized in the digital age.
