Music with harp and accordion

Poetry arises from the clash of opposites: oxymoron, a linguistic device that inspired the Berlin duo's name.

The two musicians combine tradition with innovation, blending jazz, classical, and neo-classical music with stylistic confidence, with the courage to experiment, and driven by a desire for the new. Steinkogler and Butt have no interest in maintaining categories such as popular and serious music. Here, two musicians have found each other who, together, create something powerful, unheard of, and intensely emotional.

With a lack of role models for this unusual ensemble, they create an independent sound universe with a unique aesthetic, virtuosic and poetic.

At the concert, the audience can expect a colorful crossover of classical, jazz, and world music – arrangements of works by Ravel and Piazzolla, among others, as well as their own compositions, such as the fairytale suite "Scented Rushes," which also gave their debut album its name.

Anna Steinkogler, born in Austria, graduated with honors from the Mozarteum Salzburg, the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, and the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin.

Valentin Butt, born in St. Petersburg, also studied at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music.

Both are prizewinners of various national and international competitions and work with renowned orchestras, theaters, and ensembles.
