CONCERT: joint-venture 2.0 ::: Electronic Improvisation Realtime | artspring

The show opens with short live sets from the artists, followed by an opportunity for everyone to join in a jam session. joint-venture was an innovative platform that brought together experimental, academic, "real-time" music and electronic performers and composers, mixed with visual sets and accompanied by intermediary DJ sets.


Where a branch of a privately owned physical fitness center now effectively, efficiently, and electrically stimulates clients' muscles, Zentrale Randlage was located from 2003 to 2008. An institution based on a shady association structure, already doomed to decline at that point, yet still lingering in the collectivist spirit of the post-war years:


A playground, a platform, a haven for a wide variety of characters, arts, and sounds, a regular meeting place for seekers and self-actualizers from all over the world.


The interdisciplinary format joint-venture ::: Electronic Improvisation Real Time, developed at that time, is being revived for artspring and, as once proven, invites artists from a wide variety of genres and types, who previously didn't know each other and often lacked a meeting space or scene connection, to perform together on stage. For some, this may be an imposition or a mere stepping stone, while others recognize the worthwhile venture.

This type of curatorial activity is just as important today, both socio-politically and aesthetically, for creating a community. An intention that artspring has stood for from the very beginning and which forms the basis of this collaboration.
