The film “The City Without Jews”, an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Hugo Bettauer, turns 100 years old this year. The film is dedicated to the supposedly utopian, definitely anti-Semitic idea of an expulsion of the Jewish population from a fictional republic called Utopia.
In view of the current political situation, in which fantasies of expulsion are being normalized again, excerpts from the film will be shown on two evenings in cooperation with the KIgA Kitchen project of the Kreuzberg Initiative against Anti-Semitism (KIgA e.V.), and will then be discussed with a panel of recognized experts.
