Filmscreening and discussion

The Viennese sisters Helga and Elisabeth survived the Shoah. At the age of 7 and 14, they and their mother were deported to the Theresienstadt concentration camp. In interviews, they talk about the cruel memories of their childhood and impressively reconstruct the Nazi reign of terror. International artists and actors such as Iris Berben and Konstantin Wecker translate the stories into contemporary art, creating a new level of remembrance.

FURTHER INFORMATION

A series of events by Dokumentale / The Good Media Network in cooperation with the Documentation Centre for Displacement, Expulsion, Reconciliation.

The documentaries presented as part of Dokumentale, as well as internationally award-winning media projects, immersive VR experiences and readings from non-fiction books, take up current topics in our society and shed light on new perspectives. In doing so, Dokumentale offers a unique festival experience on and beyond the cinema screen in Berlin, with plenty of space for exchange.

From October 14 to 19, the Documentation Center Flight, Expulsion, Reconciliation invites you to four extraordinary film screenings that will take place in the house as part of this festival.
