"Mist is the wave, dust is the source..." begins the famous saying that awakens the Rain Maiden. She MUST be awakened, because since she's been asleep, there's been no more rain in the world, and all life is threatened with withering.
Based loosely on Theodor Storm's fairy tale, which could hardly be more relevant, Ciacconna Clox tells of what happens when a catastrophe grips the world, namely when not a drop of water flows from the tap. The need is great, and people are torn apart.
There's one person who still has water, the meadow farmer. He finds it difficult to share. "There wouldn't be enough for everyone anyway," is his argument. His daughter Maren, of all people, feels a sense of responsibility for the community: Something must be done. But what?
Can this world still be saved? How many rainmaidens would have to be awakened by now to restore nature's balance? Does the Rain Maiden even exist? And if so, where should we look for her?
A dancer, a singer, and an actress join the audience on a journey to find the Rain Maiden.
