The Georg Herwegh Choir will be singing under the direction of Michael Gerhardt.
The Georg-Herwegh-Choir was founded in 1996 by parents of the Georg-Herwegh-Gymnasium at the instigation of music teacher Michael Gerhardt, initially to support the performance of Marc-Antoine Charpentier's Te Deum by the school's soloists, choir and orchestra. Inspired by its success, the choir stayed together and expanded beyond the school's parent body. Since then, it has regularly taken part in the school's concerts with independent performances as well as in co-operation with the school choir and/or orchestra.
