Activation of Posenenske's objects in the exhibition followed by a discussion
In the early 1960s, artists like Donald Judd and Dan Flavin transformed flawless, mass-produced products such as metal boxes or fluorescent tubes into works of art. The German artist Charlotte Posenenske deliberately distances herself from this sobriety of Minimal Art.
Unlike the immutable works of Judd and Flavin, her objects can be continually reassembled. Social interaction and mutability are part of the work, as will be demonstrated during the evening event. Afterwards, they will discuss the function of sculpture and architecture as "social catalysts."
Participation is free.
