History that lives in stories

In the representative rooms of the commandant's house, an exhibition presents the history of the castle and fortress. It is the ideal starting point for any citadel exploration. All explanatory texts can be read in both German and English.

Models, maps and plans, paintings and photographs, archaeological finds, tin figure dioramas, weapons, helmets and everyday objects of the garrison tell of historical events that took place at the citadel. A special section is dedicated to the local fauna. Panels with descriptions suitable for children make a visit to the exhibition a pleasure for the whole family.

A pavilion on the south kurtine also shows changing exhibitions, which are created in cooperation with the Spandau Youth Art School.
