Cantus Domus presents two works that illuminate the human quest for freedom in very different ways.
Boris Blacher's The Grand Inquisitor, inspired by Dostoyevsky's The Brothers Karamazov, poses the question of power and self-determination: is man capable of taking responsibility for his own freedom?
Alfred Schnittke's Concerto for Choir, on the other hand, opens up a spiritual perspective on the topic. In this meditative work, the tradition of Orthodox choral music and Schnittke's polystylistic sound language merge into a deep search for inner redemption.
As in the concerts Inside || Outside (2022) and Ad Libitum (2024), freedom is also at the center of the musical debate here.
A concert that challenges and liberates - on an artistic and spiritual level - and encourages reflection on one's own place in life and faith.
