A dance on a fine line between light and darkness. They move into the darkness and look at beauty, brutality, transience and provocation. Where is beauty hidden in the cruel and the brutal in the sweet? - Brutale Dolce, in other words.

What do people reveal and what do they keep hidden?

Who is seen, who is overlooked?

"Brutale Dolce" merges extremes and questions our perception of beauty. The radical, early Baroque painter Caravaggio is the starting point of the theatrical debate. He had a significant influence on the use of light and shadow in art and also led a life of extremes in his private life. His art provoked and questioned common ideals of beauty. He was a punk of his time who made "sinners" into saints and was into the depiction of blood and beheadings.

“Everything that does not arise from reality is child's play.” (adapted from Caravaggio)
