The film material as a contemporary stage experience

The blockbuster ‘Bodyguard’ – based on the screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan, who has been nominated for an Oscar multiple times (including for ‘Star Wars – The Empire Strikes Back’, ‘Indiana Jones – Raiders of the Lost Ark’) – made the emotionally charged romance between superstar Rachel Marron and her bodyguard Frank Farmer internationally famous.
In Germany alone, the film attracted more than six million viewers to the cinemas.
Oscar-winning screenwriter Alexander Dinelaris's musical adaptation (he won Best Screenplay for Birdman) turns this 1990s story into a stage experience that is even more glamorous, exciting and moving than the film.

A gripping love story

Frank Farmer, a former secret agent, is tasked with protecting superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker – a task she initially reluctantly accepts. Neither the eccentric diva nor her strict bodyguard are willing to compromise at first. But the unexpected proximity sparks a passion that neither of them had reckoned with – and which captivates the audience from the first second.
