The Tegeler Fließ rises north-east of Basdorf. It is 30 km long, the last third runs on Berlin territory.
The tour begins in Basdorf and the first ten kilometers lead through the Tegeler Fließtal nature reserve with a calcareous tufa area and low moor meadows.
On the way from Lübars to Hermsdorf, the Eichwerder Steg, a planked footbridge through the floodplain, is reminiscent of the large river moors of eastern Central and Eastern Europe.
The last five kilometers go through the Tegeler Fließ landscape conservation area.
On the lower reaches of the Fließ, a bridge is crossed where Stone Age hunters used to hunt reindeer. Traces of the storage of meat laid in the permafrost were found there. This is exhibited in Hermsdorf in the Reinickendorf Museum, which we visit briefly.
The bike tour is 27 km long and is documented on the komoot route planner, which can be used free of charge.
