Zlata Chochieva is very familiar to the audience of the Berlin Piano Festival. With her impressive Rachmaninoff interpretations, she has long since earned a firm place for herself in the world of piano music. Anyone who has already seen her at the festival in 2019 or 2023 will be able to confirm her virtuosity and her special connection to the Russian repertoire.

In the second half of her demanding program, Zlata Chochieva devotes herself to another great Russian composer: Sergei Prokofiev. You can hear excerpts from the "Cinderella" ballet music arranged for piano as well as the 6th Sonata. This work, written during the Second World War, impresses with its bold harmonies, complex rhythms and striking dramatic contrasts.
