Visitors to this concert can look forward to a stormy and carefully thought-out evening - in the tradition of this artist. As a passionate Medtner interpreter, Eckardstein concludes the program with his most demanding sonata, which is based on the lyrical motto of the Russian poet Fëdor Tjutčev: "What are you howling about, wind of the night?". This brings him full circle to Beethoven's "Storm" sonata, which in turn was inspired by Shakespeare's "The Tempest".
