Pfannkuchen aka Berliner
Registration for the Berlin New Year's Eve Run 2024 is possible from October 21st to December 26th, 2024, as long as the participant limit is not reached beforehand.
The so-called pancake run around the Teufelsberg in the Grunewald offers different routes to choose from depending on age and fitness:
The almost 10 kilometer long route leads over the Teufels- and Drachenfliegerberg, the good 6 kilometer long route past the Teufelsberg. 2 and 4 kilometer distances are also offered for young people and women.
Distances:
approx. 2 km (students A-D, youth A+B, women)
approx. 4 km (students A-D, youth A+B, women)
approx. 6.3 km (youth A+B, women, men)
approx. 9.9 km (men + women)
The best costumes will be awarded at the New Year's Eve run in Berlin.
FUN FACT:
This run through the Grunewald and over the Teufelsberg is also called the "pancake run" because the participants can look forward to sweet pancakes at the end. Pancakes are also called "Berliner" in many places in Germany.
