The awarding of a German prize for Hebrew literature throws the relationship between an Israeli living in Berlin and his German girlfriend into chaos.
The novel is written by a tragically comic yet realistic narrator who tells the three different perspectives of the Israeli protagonist Chesi, his German girlfriend Helena and his mother Amira.
Author Mati Shemoelof will be moderating the book launch of his novel ‘The Price’ (translated from the Hebrew by Helene Seidler) himself. Other guests include Dr. Omri ‘Hana’ Ben Yehouda, Michal Zamir (founder of the Hebrew Library Berlin), poet Abdulkadir Musa and writer Ralph Tharayil. The wonderful Volkan Aydin on the saz will provide the musical accompaniment.
The event will be held in English, Hebrew, Kurdish and German.
