Together for children and young people with rheumatism

The German Rheumatism League Berlin e. V. has been committed to supporting people with rheumatism for many years - especially children and young people who have to live with the challenges of this disease.

Rheumatism in children is an often underestimated disease that is associated with severe pain, restricted movement and psychological stress. Early therapies, targeted exercise programmes and holistic care are crucial to enable these young patients to live as pain-free a life as possible.

In order to continue funding and expanding our important services, the University of the Arts is organising the ‘Young Classical Music’ benefit concert on Saturday, 15 March 2025 at 17:00 in its concert hall at the corner of Hardenbergstrasse and Fasanenstrasse in 10623 Berlin-Charlottenburg.

This special musical event, presented by highly talented young musicians from the Julius Stern Institute, will not only provide an unforgettable evening, but also launch a fundraising campaign for affected children and young people.

Musical programme & artists:

The concert will feature a top-class classical programme, including solo performances as well as ensemble and orchestral pieces. Under the artistic direction of Stefan Lietz and the musical direction of Prof Harry Curtis, you will experience works by Mozart, Schubert, Saint-Saëns, Elgar and Paganini - interpreted by some of the most gifted young talents.

The event is under the patronage of the Governing Mayor of Berlin, Kai Wegner, and will be hosted by Jens Lehmann (rbb Kultur). The State Secretary for Health and Care, Ellen Haußdörfer, will address the guests.

Why your donations are so important here:

Rheuma-Liga Berlin e. V. offers a wide range of supportive measures for children and young people with rheumatism that go beyond the regular healthcare system. These include:

  • Exercise therapies that relieve pain and promote mobility
  • Specialised sports and leisure activities to boost self-confidence
  • Psychosocial support to reduce the emotional burden
  • Information and training programmes for parents so that they can provide their children with the best possible support
  • Financial assistance for families struggling with high treatment costs

These programmes are only possible thanks to donations. We therefore appreciate any support!
