The musical story of a first love by Eva Blum and Matthias Witting based on the book by Peter Härtling (8+)
Ben and his friends' everyday school life takes an unexpected turn when a new student named Anna joins their class. Anna, who moved with her family from Poland, is linguistically, externally and behaviorally different from the others. This triggers mixed feelings from her classmates, from rejection to curiosity.
Ben is also attracted to Anna, although he also finds some of her peculiarities strange. When she is teased by his friends, Ben steps in for her. Soon it will be said, “Ben loves Anna”. At first he feels uncomfortable with it, but eventually he realizes it's true. It's obvious: first love is beautiful, but also challenging. There is excitement, vulnerability, jealousy, arguments with friends and fear of ridicule.
The themes of first love, dealing with social differences and accepting one's own feelings are the focus of this production. The rousing live music with ten songs in particular allows viewers young and old to experience up close how Ben and Anna are moved inside, how the fear of ridicule holds them back and the feeling of liberation they experience when they finally find each other.
