Special guided tour on tree and habitat care with foundation gardener Jonas Tiedtke, SPSG

What would the Peacock Island be without its impressive old trees? The design and artistic idea of the island would be unthinkable without its old oaks. Other tree species have also reached a considerable age.

The vitality of the old trees is not always optimal and they must be constantly monitored and cared for. However, their appearance should not look like a street tree and they should blend in picturesquely with the garden artwork.

Many birds, bats and insects have colonized these old trees as a habitat, so species protection also plays a very important role in tree care.

On a tour of Peacock Island, gardener Jonas Tiedtke will provide insights into the complex work of tree care and report on the safety of the trees on Peacock Island. Some traces of colonization by animals and protected insects will not remain undiscovered.
