Aus dem Verborgenen holen – Die Ausgestaltung der Japanischen Kammer

The Japanese Chamber is one of the few largely undestroyed Baroque rooms in Charlottenburg Palace. The impression of the room is characterised by various components that follow a chinoiserie visual language. Particularly dominant are the painted ceiling with Chinese-style figures, decorative ornamentation consisting of arabesques and scrollwork as well as Asian lacquer work on the doors and window reveals. The guided tour provides an insight into the history of the building, restoration investigations and the upcoming restoration work in the Japanese Chamber.
