The Berlin-based artist Ria Wank will present insights into her two series featured in Surrender to the Dreamers and demonstrate a part of her cameraless working process live on-site using darkroom chemicals.

In the series in between Ria Wank explores the fleeting threshold between wakefulness and sleep. Through chemigrams, she captures the bodily and visual impressions of this transition. Her work is shaped by a slow, experimental process that results in images that feel both dreamlike and physically tangible.
Her group of works pyroclastic X-rays extends this approach: using x-ray film, originally intended for medical diagnostics, Wank reveals the invisible. She reinterprets this functional medium as a carrier of visual visions, positioning her work at the intersection of science and artistic imagination.
