Talk

In the run-up to the upcoming coalition negotiations, culture hardly played a role. This is politically negligent - because few areas enjoy such broad support as culture. This is shown by the results of the current “Relevance Monitor: Culture 2025” by the Liz Mohn Foundation, a nationwide, representative survey on the importance of cultural offerings.

  • What about the often-invoked, democracy-promoting potential of art and culture?
  • What significance does culture have for people's lives and the society?
  • What framework conditions and funding structures are necessary?

In light of the ongoing coalition negotiations, the results of the Relevance Monitor will be presented and the social significance of culture will be debated.

With:

  • Carsten Brosda, State Minister for Culture and Media Hamburg and President of the Deutscher Bühnenverein
  • Michel Friedman, lawyer, publicist, philosopher
  • Peter Laudenbach, journalist e.g. for Süddeutsche Zeitung, author of the book Volkstheater. Der rechte Angriff auf die Kunstfreiheit
  • Christiane Schenderlein, MdB MP, Spokesperson for the CDU/CSU parliamentary group for cultural affairs and media
  • Dorothea Gregor, Project Management Relevance Monitor and Cultural expert of the Liz Mohn Foundation
  • Anh-Linh Ngo, Vice-President of the Akademie der Künste and architectural publicist
