Awards concert

The three highly talented conductors Lucia Birzer, Katharina Morin and Lucas Siebert will conduct the RIAS Chamber Choir in the final and present choral repertoire from several eras. In addition to the prize money awarded by an international jury, the audience also has the opportunity to choose their favorite with the audience award.

In 2008, the German Music Council's "Forum Conducting" scholarship program was established as an extension of the support for young conductors that had previously been limited to the orchestra sector.

From the very beginning, the RIAS Chamber Choir was an impetus for this expansion and has since been a partner in its conception and implementation.

Prize winners have become choir directors at the Stuttgart State Opera or the Salzburg State Theater, deputy choir director at the Semperoper Dresden or chief conductor of the SWR Vokalensemble - the careers of the finalists of the previous German Prizes for Choral Conducting are as diverse as they are impressive.
