On 8 August 1924, the first S-Bahn ran between Nordbahnhof and Bernau. Today, 100 years later, 16 lines take Berliners and visitors from A to B throughout the city. This special anniversary will be celebrated from 8 to 11 August with the 100 Years of S-Bahn Festival.
The Berlin S-Bahn is organising a four-day celebration to mark its 100th birthday. There will be a varied programme for families and adults with many free events.
