Eierhäuschen at Plänterwald
Modern German cuisine and art
The Eierhäuschen has seen a lot: It was first mentioned in 1837 and in its current form dates back to around 1890/91. Even then, the place was a popular excursion destination. Legend has it that the name "Eierhäuschen" (egg house) comes from an enterprising landlord who not only sold Sunday excursionists drinks, but also hard-boiled eggs from his own hens. However, things are no longer that rustic today.
German cuisine, art and plenty of relaxation
Today, you can enjoy modern German cuisine at the Eierhäuschen. And it's not just physical delicacies that are on offer here, there's also a treat or two for the eyes. As a residence for artists, the Eierhäuschen has made a name for itself far beyond the city limits and invites you to add a foray into contemporary art to your excursion into nature.
