Colosseum

Cinema with a long history

The Colosseum cinema is located in a historic building on Schönhauser Allee. The building was erected in 1892 for the Große Berliner Pferde-Eisenbahn (Great Berlin Horse Railway), later rebuilt, and has housed a cinema for film screenings since 1924. A multiplex cinema with 10 screens was later built there. The cinema was closed following its insolvency in 2020, but has since reopened as the entire complex is to be redesigned as a cultural venue.
The Colosseum has three auditoriums with over 800 seats, in which it shows upscale mainstream, but also independent cinema and special event screenings.
