Travelling back in time in Berlin
In numerous Berlin museums you can travel back in time from the Middle Ages to the present. The Düppel open-air museum is the place to check out life in the Middle Ages. More than 7,000 objects at the German Historical Museum tell the story of the German people. The permanent exhibition, housed in the 1695 Zeughaus building, presents 2,000 years of German history in a European context. The memorial at the Berlin Wall provides information about German division and the peaceful revolution of 1989. The GDR Museum gives insight into life in the former East Germany with original objects and the reproduction of a typical high-rise apartment.
