Burgermeister

In the realm of the burger

It all started under the elevated railway at Schlesisches Tor: together with a friend, the current "Burgermeister" discovered the listed toilet block and was thrilled. The perfect place for a typical Berlin Late-Night snack bar. The two spent three years trying to get a licence until the first Burgermeister was allowed to serve delicious grilled burgers in the former toilet block in 2006. The unusual snack bar quickly became a cult favourite. Today, the Burgermeister runs over ten branches - and the burgers still taste just as delicious as they did back then. You'll have to find out for yourself whether they really are the best in town, as many fans believe - but the chilli burger is the hottest thing currently available in Berlin.
