ARD Capital Studio

First address for news on federal politics

Every day, around 70 correspondents from all the state broadcasting stations supply ARD's editorial teams on television, radio and online with news, interviews, background information and commentaries on federal policy issues from the capital. Located in the heart of Berlin's government district, the ARD Capital Studio is thus the first address for news on federal politics.

"Tagesschau'' and "Tagesthemen" as well as "Morgenmagazin", "Mittagsmagazin" and "Nachtmagazin" of the German public broadcaster Ersten are supplied from the ARD-Hauptstadtstudio. In addition, the joint television studio produces "focal points" on federal politics and takes over special broadcasts on elections, party congresses or state visits. Every week, the ARD Capital Studio produces the programme "Bericht aus Berlin" (Report from Berlin), the television magazine on federal politics for Ersten, with current reports and analyses. The reporting is supplemented by online formats, podcasts and the social media channels of "Report from Berlin".

Capital city correspondents also produce news reports, interviews and programmes for ARD's more than 60 radio stations - from the Infowelle to the Jugendwelle, they provide federal political news for all age and interest groups.

In addition, the event and documentary channel phoenix has its own editorial and production staff in the ARD capital studio and regularly reports live on debates in the Bundestag.
