Discovery tour through Friedrichshain

This tour takes you to the most exciting places in Friedrichhain. You start from the Frankfurter Tor underground station, where two tram lines also run.

From the trendy nightlife district around Simon-Dach-Strasse, the route leads to the most beautiful vantage points on the Spree. You make a detour to Treptower Park and discover the East Side Gallery, see the magnificent Soviet-style Karl-Marx-Allee boulevard and finally relax in Volkspark Friedrichshain.

The pure driving time of this tour is one hour and 20 minutes. Plan time for stops, because there is a lot to see and beautiful places to linger.

Tour Highlights

At the beginning of the tour, we go to the nightlife district of Friedrichshain. Simon-Dach-Straße is the most famous street in this area. In the 90s of the 20th century, it developed from a quiet residential street into a lively nightlife and promenade. Boxhagener Platz is not far away. This is known for its lively flea market on Sundays.

Shortly afterwards, you leave Friedrichshain for a moment and take a detour through Treptower Park. You will cross the Spree River and have an excellent view of the Molecule Man statue. You will then pass the Mediaspree project. Over a length of 3.7 kilometres on both sides of the Spree, a new district is being built - with architecturally outstanding new buildings and lavishly renovated old buildings, such as the MTV and Universal buildings. From here you have a good view of the Oberbaumbrücke. Then follow the course of the Spree further along the East Side Gallery.

Finally, make a detour to Volkspark Friedrichshain and take a look at Karl-Marx-Allee. The monumental street in the style of "Socialist Classicism" impresses with its width and the eye-catching apartment and tower houses.
