Arrival by car

You can easily travel to Berlin by car. The city has excellent connections to the German transport network, with six motorways leading to Berlin. The A2, A9, A11, A12, A13 and A24 motorways provide easy access to the capital from all parts of Germany. The Berliner Ring, the A10, also ensures that you can usually reach the city centre without traffic jams.

Umweltzone Berlin

The Umweltzone, in which only vehicles with certain emission standards are allowed to drive, applies in Berlin city centre. Cars that are used in the environmental zone must be fitted with stickers that indicate the emission class. Coaches are also subject to the sticker requirement.

Tip: You can park the vehicles of most car sharing providers easily and free of charge at the airport. They are therefore ideal for transfers from the airport to the city centre. Parking spaces, car parks and parking zones

In all twelve districts of Berlin you will find many car parks where you can park your car. Please note that the charges often increase the further you move towards the city centre. It is also possible to park on the street. Once you have found a space, look out for signs indicating that you need a parking ticket. You can get a parking ticket from a parking ticket machine.
