Pressburger Klezmer Band: Klezmer from Slovakia

During this time, the band has played more than 1,000 concerts in most European countries, in Argentina, and most recently, together with members of the famous Klezmatics, in New York, USA.


Like traditional klezmer (as the traveling Jewish musicians were called in Eastern Europe), the Bratislava Klezmer Band also performs at other events besides concerts, such as weddings, various dance workshops, lectures on the history of klezmer, and music for theater and film.


The group's members incorporate various influences from Slovak folk music, Balkan music, jazz, reggae, and others into their musical mix. They are passionate about rediscovering Jewish music from what is now Slovakia. The latest project also went down in history and represented a musical accompaniment to a Jewish wedding, as they used to take place in Eastern Europe.
