NoonSong - Song & Prayer

Jazz influences in church music.

The Frankfurt composer Heinz Werner Zimmermann became known worldwide in the 1960s for his imaginative fusion of traditional church music compositional forms with the rhythms and harmonies of jazz. The music of the Hungarian composer Karai is similarly lively, cheerful and rhythmic, combining the complicated rhythms of Hungarian folk music with Gregorian elements.
