Save the date: Opening ceremony of the exhibition on May 15, 2025

Students at the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences in the Department of Design and Design Theory, headed by Prof. Rebecca Chestnutt, worked on the new Bauakademie building on Schinkelplatz as a design assignment.

Students at the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in the Department of Design and Building Construction, headed by Prof. Peter Apel, and students at the Technical University of Berlin in the Department of Architecture for Health/Future, headed by Prof. Elisabeth Broermann and Prof. Adrian Nägel, followed suit.

The students also intensively examined the institution of the Federal Foundation for Building Academy:

  • What must the building of an institution that addresses the future of construction be able to achieve?
  • How does it simultaneously do justice to the historical legacy of Schinkel's Bauakademie and the innovative spirit of Karl Friedrich Schinkel?
  • How much building is enough in times of dwindling resources?
  • And above all: How must construction be done to master the construction revolution?

These questions are driving the next generation of architects. The Federal Foundation for Building and Architecture (Bundesstiftung Bauakademie) now wishes to honor these student works with an exhibition and make them accessible to the interested public in the Red Hall (Schinkelplatz 1, 10117 Berlin).

The exhibition opens on May 15 at 6 p.m.

The students will discuss their backgrounds and approaches with Member of Parliament Lars Rohwer, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Federal Foundation for Building and Architecture (Bundesstiftung Bauakademie), and Achim Wollschläger, the Foundation's Construction Officer.

The exhibition can also be viewed from May 16 to 18, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Registration is not required.
