The successful exhibition ZWISCHENWELTEN presents its third programme of art by Axel Neumann: oversized paintings created over many years of meticulous painting processes with the cartridge filler - millions of filler strokes for a picture.
Some highlights of his work are staged in a completely darkened room with light, so that visitors can feel the immense luminosity and vivid aura of the staged colour worlds up close.
Staged vividly with light, visitors can build an authentic connection with his mysterious colour worlds and their almost inexplicable luminosity.
Axel Neumann found his way to painting through an emotional borderline experience: as part of a professional self-experiment, he isolated himself in darkness and silence for three weeks. The deprivation of stimuli triggered a flood of inner images, which he has since transferred to paper.
The exhibition marks the conclusion of his INTERMEDIATE WORLDS trilogy.
The new exhibition can be viewed until 27 July, every Thursday to Sunday from 2 to 7 pm, and by appointment.
Groups, families with children and school classes (all age groups) can arrange guided tours.
The artist Axel Neumann and his wife, the curator Patrizia Neumann, will delve into the history of colouring in and share exciting first-hand stories.
Opening hours:
Thu – Sun: 2 – 7 p.m. and by appointment: 0172 – 980 39 69
