The Resurrection Altarpiece from Arnstadt's Church of Our Lady, created around 1430, is a curiosity in several respects. For example, the closed panels depict a comparatively rare "Annunciation from the right." Above all, however, the question of the reasons for the triptych's asymmetrical form is pressing.
