In this concert, benefiting the Kurt Sanderling Academy, the audience will hear current scholarship recipients and the Konzerthaus Orchestra under the direction of Joana Mallwitz.



The pieces will include Brahms' "Akademische" and Mendelssohn's magnificent, world-storming String Octet, one of his finest early works, as well as an arrangement of the rapid-fire overture to Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro" and Beethoven's Fifth.


"Anyone who knows my music cannot become completely discouraged," said the great composer. Young musicians need courage and support more than ever at this time.


By attending the concert, the audience ensures the continued existence of the Orchestra Academy, as the proceeds from ticket purchases go to this important institution for the promotion of young musicians at the Konzerthaus Berlin.

  • Ludwig van Beethoven - Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67
