The news is repeatedly dominated by reports about groups like the Reich Citizens and the neo-Nazi scene in Germany, or the Proud Boys and other groups in the USA. Not to mention the increasingly clear shift to the right in politics and society that is taking place in Europe and around the world.

For many people around the world, globalization, open borders, and diversity have become a threat, as their environment and future prospects feel increasingly uncertain. As external stability crumbles, internal insecurity simmers. They seek protection and perspective in an ideology that offers them simple answers to an increasingly complex and changing world.

"Monster Made" is the story of two people who couldn't be further apart than they are. Amanda Crowley is a lawyer and a strong personality who is not intimidated by a man accused of murder who committed a heinous massacre.

On the other side, Thomas Duncan, who is guilty. There's no doubt about that. It's a case that's already lost. Nevertheless, Amanda wants this case. Not to win, but to understand how someone can become such a monster, and perhaps to initiate a process that will ultimately change something. Because the question remains: how do people as a society deal with this? How can they live in freedom?

People as a society should not just acknowledge the riots and crimes and put the perpetrators in prison; they should ask why someone becomes a monster in order to truly initiate long-term change, away from inhumane behavior and toward humanity.
