On 23 March 2025, Italian jazz singer and composer Simona De Rosa will release her new album ‘Feathers’ – a cross-genre musical journey through cultures, languages and personal memories. Shortly after the release, she will present the work live in two Berlin performances.

On 16 April 2025, Simona De Rosa will present the new album in an exclusive album release concert at Zig Zag Berlin.

She will be accompanied by the Polish formation Confusion Project, with whom she has built a close musical partnership over the years. The trio, consisting of Michał Ciesielski (piano), Piotr Gierszewski (bass) and Adam Golicki (drums), combines jazz with folk, prog and world music and significantly shapes the eclectic sound of the album.

On 2 May 2025, a second concert will follow in Berlin: as part of the B-Flat All-Stars series, De Rosa will perform at the renowned B-Flat jazz club – once again with the Confusion Project, in an energetic live session with an improvisational focus.

‘Feathers’ is a musical diary that combines a wide range of influences: from Irish landscapes to Cuban rhythms and Bulgarian choirs, to Arabic and Central Asian folklore. The compositions were created in close collaboration with Michał Ciesielski, who arranged the pieces and, together with De Rosa, tailored them specifically to her voice and artistic vision. Guest musicians such as Valentina Bellanova (flute), The Bulgarian Voices Berlin, Abeer Nehme or Ziad Trabelsi further enrich the soundscape.

Simona De Rosa is a graduate of Queens College in New York and combines jazz with influences from world music and contemporary sound art. She has performed internationally, including at the Blue Note Beijing, Jazz at Lincoln Center Shanghai and the Montreux Jazz Festival Shanghai. She now lives in Berlin.
